Accountant - Entertainment

Alegna Financial Management, Inc., a boutique CPA firm specializing in the Entertainment and Service Industries, is seeking a full-time Accountant to join the team of dedicated professionals with the potential to lead. Location of position: Atlanta, GA (Marietta - Windy Hill/Powers Ferry Area) Benefit Package: 401(k), Medical Insurance, paid holidays, sick time, & vacation.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Perform various accounting, payroll, tax, and business management duties as assigned
  • Perform general accounting, payroll, and tax data entry
  • Perform complex account reconciliations
  • Prepare accounting journal entries for clients
  • Prepare client financial statements
  • Perform accounting & financial analysis to identify potential issues and implement process improvements
  • Prepare basic tax returns and assist in identifying opportunities for tax savings
  • Prepare firm working papers
  • Perform some client Quickbooks training as required
  • Research accounting and tax issues and draft client memos
  • Send and manage documents to and from clients electronically utilizing paperless technology
  • Light supervision of accounting interns and/or lower level staff
  • Handle incoming calls and make outgoing inquiry calls to clients, vendors, and/or government agencies
  • Communicate with clients electronically – use technology to promote a paperless environment 
  • Perform general office duties – Filing, faxing, scanning, etc.  

Education, Skills, Experience, & Competencies:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience required, 3-5 years of experience in accounting preferred
  • Must be eager to learn and to work
  • Must be extremely confidential and information sensitive
  • Must be extremely trustworthy, dependable, and ethical
  • Entertainment Industry knowledge is preferred
  • Possess good problem solving skills and the ability to think things through
  • Creative thinker and worker
  • Experience with accounting and tax applications – QuickBooks, Xero, and ProSeries, a plus
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new software applications
  • Knowledge of cloud computing
  • Working in a paperless office, a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented, ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
  • Self-managed, works with initiative, ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Possess good writing and online research skills 
  • Professional phone etiquette and ability to articulate clearly is a must
  • Must be able to work and communicate with strong client personalities
  • Must have dependable transportation
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check
